Taking Flight

As the clouds parted and the rain let up, my dear friend Sarah and I jumped on the opportunity to take a photo walk. We went out to a nature area with plans to walk around the small lake, wandering aimlessly, chatting, and taking photographs. Little did we know that the promenade surrounding the lake gets chained up and shut down at 5pm, and with us arriving in the hopes to capture some golden hour light, we were too late. So, we made do with the open expanse of prairie that was available, still wandered aimlessly, chatting and practicing our craft.

A flock of birds gathered in the still barren trees, twittering to one another. Then in an instant, one took flight, spreading his wings and soaring off on his path. The sky was bright with brilliant shades of blue, the clouds puffy and full. And in that moment, all was perfect. I’m readying to be just like that bird…

Love the richness of the blues. I’d fly into that.

Love the tones, love the flight, and I have no doubt that you too have taken off into a brilliant and free expanse. xoxo
