‘Roid Week 2011 – Days 4 & 5
Today draws a close to ‘Roid Week. It has been an incredibly inspiring week with literally thousands of Polaroids in the Flickr pool. I highly encourage you to spend some time leisurely looking at such amazing photography. You might think, “Instant photography? What’s the big deal? How hard is that?” And I would have to respond that it’s infinitely harder than you think. And it’s especially hard to create the magical photographs that people have shared this ‘Roid Week. The film is temperamental and the cameras that many people are using (including myself) are OLD. My favorite camera to shoot with, the SX-70, was made in 1972! So during this year of becoming a Polaroid photographer, I have grown an even deeper and abiding respect for the talented and fabulous instant photographers whom I admire.
Without further ado, here are my entries for Days 4 and 5 of my very first ‘Roid Week.
As you can tell from what I submitted for ‘Roid Week, I’m truly in love with double exposures these days. I can’t get enough of them.
What are you in love with creatively these days?
