A Little More Film Love

I couldn’t help but share just a few more shots from that first roll of film with my “new” Canon AE-1. I am completely falling in love with film all over again. In doing some research on types of film, I decided to order a variety from B&H. I bought two types of black and white film (one roll of Ilford and one roll of Kodak) and two types of color (two different varieties of Fuji). I can’t wait to get my hands on them! The images here are all from expired Fuji film (200 ISO).

Traipsing precariously in my backyard with downed trees and wheelbarrow clean-up…

Visiting the dwindling days of the Farmer’s Market…

And spending time with two of my three favorite guys…

I can’t wait to compare the four new films I ordered to one another and to this expired roll. I’m curious to find if I can tell a difference in each of the films. And I’m curious to see how I enjoy shooting in black and white versus color. I definitely feel a project devoted exclusively to film coming on. A nice respite from the current digital self-portrait project that I’ve been working on since July!

Oooh, I absolutely love how the expired film turned the shadows into a magenta-y color!

Before I shot a roll of B&W I always thought it would be a bit… boring… It’s definitely different, but definitely not boring either! B&W is a lot of fun because it lets you shift your focus onto light, composition, etc and not have to worry about color. Have fun! 🙂
