30 Days of Gratitude

Monday, November 7th, 2011 12

With the dawning of November 1, I recommitted myself to embrace an attitude of gratitude. I’ve been feeling stressed and overwhelmed with all that is on my plate, and have been in a bit of a funk with some setbacks that have hit me a little too hard. So I decided to make the most of the days leading up to my favorite holiday by choosing to adjust my perspective. I have joined the Gratitude Project group on Flickr and am being mindful each day of something for which I’m grateful, capturing that gratitude with a photo. I’ve consciously chosen (i.e., given myself permission) to take these photographs with my iPhone, making it easy and accessible for me to engage in this practice.

I can already feel a small internal shift. Day by day, capturing snippets of my experience is helping me gain a little perspective on my life and all that I have.

Who knows…maybe I’ll keep it up beyond November.

You can follow all of my 30 Days of Gratitude on Instagram or Flickr. What are you grateful for these days? Have you ever done a “gratitude project?”

I haven’t done this before, but I love the idea, and I look forward to seeing all of your photos. In an interesting way, gratitude is contagious, at least for me. Thank you for the inspiration. xox

I wish I could take an iPhone photo of YOU today. Am totally grateful to have connected with you. xo

  3. Cool idea! I had no idea that Thanksgiving was your favorite holiday. As you know, it’s not one I love, though it’s getting better, so it’s interesting to think about the part of Thanksgiving that I often gloss over in my grief: gratitude.

Ah, I had seen the hashtags but wasn’t 100% sure what the motivation was. Not only do I love the idea, I love that you’ve given yourself permission to do it in a way that makes it accessible as part of your day. Looking forward to following all of the photos.

Yay! So many of my e-pals are taking part in this and I so love getting a peek into everyone’s lives. I’m doing the project for the first time this year and it’s been really great forcing myself to pick up my camera every day again.

I saw your work at Craftacular and loved it! But I had to comment to say how utterly adorable your puppy dog is- heartbreakingly so 🙂
