As the days are getting shorter and invariably grayer here in the Midwest, I’ve been inspired to capture color whenever and wherever I see it. I love to shoot old, rusted-out, vintage cars and trucks. So, I literally stopped in my tracks on the way to work the other day when this beauty caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I had to circle the block to come back around and shoot some photographs of this gorgeous teal and orange Ford, delaying my work arrival by 15 or 20 minutes, but…it felt so worth it!

I love how the light is reflected and makes shadows across this image. I love how the teal and the orange compliment one another. I love how this truck looks loved (to me anyway). I know the light will feel fleeting in these next few months and color may be hard to find, thus, I’m holding on to this photograph, grateful to have captured a bit light and alot of COLOR!

What are you inspired by these days? What are you holding close as we move into the darker, grayer days of winter? I’d love to hear.

Inspired by co-editing over Skype. Inspired by the idea of being an artist. Inspired to invite magic in. Inspired to be inspired. So much love.

I always associate color with you, like your fabulous pink coat or your bright yellow shirt from Manzanita. It’s wonderful how you bring color into the world in so many ways. Today was DRAB here in Massachusetts, so much needed.

  4. love this ~ always inspired by color (As you know:)
