Life is to be Experienced

I’m still allowing the reverberations of my time with Bird Wanna Whistle echo through my spirit. I’m reflecting on the meaningful conversations we had about our respective creativity and the journeys on which we both find ourselves. I’m sinking in to some new revelations about my creative longings and the artistic path that lies ahead of me. And in the midst of those deep meditations, I’m also reliving in my mind the FUN we had together.

I was reminded of just how present and content I felt during our mini photo-camp weekend as I was reading Mark Nepo (I’ve shared my love for Mark Nepo before!) the other day as part of my morning ritual. Nepo writes, “we think that accomplishing things will complete us, when it is experiencing life that will.” I felt such a surge, such a resounding “yes!” as I read those words. It felt so very Life Refocused to me. This is precisely what I want more of…experiencing life, being in the moment, making time for silly. And while accomplishments still hold their place in my life, I want to remember what fills my cup.

How have you been experiencing life these days?
