A Scene from Paris

Friday, June 8th, 2012 2

I suppose it is putting it mildly to say we are enjoying Paris. The river, the streets, the art, the food…all amazing. Our only complaint thus far is the weather. It’s rained every day and it is expected to rain for the rest of our stay in the city with the exception of tomorrow. While rain can be beautiful, and maybe so very Parisian, it’s made me a bit bummed out as a photographer. It’s been hard to keep my digital camera out to shoot while managing my bag and an umbrella. And let’s not talk about the way rain interferes with Polaroid shooting. Simply send some positive weather vibes our way.

As the rains gave way late yesterday afternoon and allowed us to take an evening boat ride down the Seine, we were greeted by the magical Eiffel Tower. And she didn’t disappoint.

Beautiful image. Paris is next on my list to go for all the things you stated you are loving. Too bad about the weather, but sometimes I feel as photographers, we are so interested in capturing certain elements of our surrounding we forget to take in the moment. Maybe the rain is for you to remember to keep the camera down, and take in everything.

I hope that makes sense because it sounds funny as I wrote it. Part of the photo process is taking in everything around us. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  2. Rain in Paris reminds me of “Midnight in Paris.” I’m sure you’ve seen it 🙂 Enjoy — rain or not!
