On the Newsstand

Monday, February 18th, 2013 29

I’ve been so excited to share some more good news with you all, but I’ve been delayed by the US Postal Service. Since I couldn’t wait any longer, I had to take matters into my own hands. Guess what?!?! I’m in Artful Blogging! WOOT! I have been patiently (as patient goes for me) waiting for my copies of the magazine to arrive at my house so that I could take photos of my article to post here at Life Refocused, but they aren’t here yet. So, I took a trip to Barnes & Noble and OMG — there it was, with my photo right there on the cover (bottom right!). I kind of stood there in the aisle, mouth agape, thinking, “I am on newsstands.”

NewsstandNow I’m so grateful that my issues hadn’t arrived because I might not have taken the trip to the bookstore to see this sight with my very own eyes. I have to say it was goosebump-inducing. My article is focused on my Polaroid photography and embracing the imperfections of instant film. I’m delighted that along with my story, 11 of my photos are also published in this Spring issue of Artful Blogging.

ArticleTitlePageI am so excited to share my work and my views on instant photography with such a great audience. And, I’m thrilled that all but one of the photos included are shot with film from the Impossible Project.

ArtfulBloggingPage1-2It feels like quite an honor to be amongst these pages that feature such incredible artists who work in paint, encaustics, collage, and a variety of other mediums. I am both humbled and grateful for this opportunity.

ArtfulBloggingPage5-6As always, thanks for being a part of my creative journey. Your support, reading my blog posts, commenting and sharing your thoughts, and cheering me on means so very much to me. I hope you get a chance to check out the article and the photographs. I would love to hear your thoughts. And…I’m giving away a copy of this issue of Artful Blogging!! Just leave a comment on this post by this Thursday the 22nd at midnight Central time for your chance to win! xoxo

UPDATE–the winner of the copy of Artful Blogging is Tammy Lee Bradley! Congrats and I’ll be in touch, Tammy!
