Can’t Get Enough
A little while back, I posted some portrait photos that I shot during a workshop with the incomparable Chloe Aftel. I think Chloe is an amazing photographer who creates magical Polaroid portraits. I loved the workshop that I attended and I had a great time working with the two models, Alex and Andrea. In wanting some additional time to learn and work with Chloe, I booked a few more hours for some one-on-one time. Chloe and I met up the day after the workshop to talk through some aspects I’m working toward in my photography. I also booked an additional hour with a new model for just ME to work with — YIPPEE. The lovely Sonam and I had a fabulous time driving around Berkeley to a few locations and shooting as many portraits as I could. Here are some of my favorites from my time with the lovely Sonam.
The portrait session flew by — signs of flow for sure. It felt exhilarating to be looking for interesting settings and playing with poses and “looks” with Sonam. I posted my absolute favorite portrait of Sonam for ‘Roid Week and you can see that one HERE.
Like I said in my previous post about the workshop, portraits are an art and take practice. But I’ve definitely caught the portrait bug (in addition to my existing self-portrait bug!). And, I’m mustering up the courage to start asking strangers if I can shoot their portrait, as well as encouraging my friends to play along with me in this adventure.
