remember when we walked out the door, straight to the peach trees?
how we reached up, grabbing the plumpest of fruits?
when we took a bite, how the sweet juice ran down our chins onto our chests?
the stickiness lingering on our lips as we sucked the nectar out of life…
She said the manzanita trees reminded her of me,
With their red bark and smooth branches.
I said that’s interesting because Manzanita is one of my favorite places on this earth.
She said these trees are sturdy, strong.
She said they’re beautiful and rich.
She said they’re like me.
I drank in her words, trying to believe they were true.
I’m on summer vacation!! WOOT! But, I am over on ViewFinders today if you want to take a peak at what I’m up to…
Ahhh…Vacation, all I ever wanted…
I’m over at ViewFinders today with a post that is so fitting for what I seek on my creative journey, with what I share and do here at Life Refocused. It’s all about how photography is teaching me about life, grief, the human experience, the common struggle, me.
I truly hope you click HERE to read the full post. Much love, friends. xoxo
Your great mistake is to act the drama
as if you were alone. As if life
were a progressive and cunning crime
with no witness to the tiny hidden
transgressions. To feel abandoned is to deny
the intimacy of your surroundings. Surely,
even you, at times, have felt the grand array;
the swelling presence, and the chorus, crowding
out your solo voice…
Everything is waiting for you.
